Rechonize Pty Ltd

Rechonize Pty Ltd ACN 649 584 047 (Rechonize) collects and uses information for the purposes of providing a platform through which creative artists can be identified in their work, whether in a video recording, audio recording, image etc. This includes information about contributing artists, business contacts and staff.

Rechonize’s collection, storage, use and disclosure of personal information is governed by the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act). You can access the Privacy Act here.

Rechonize has policies and procedures in place to ensure that the collection, storage, use and disclosure of personal information is done in a safe, secure and confidential manner to ensure your rights are protected.

Your information

Rechonize will only collect and use information that is necessary to its business of providing its creative recognition and attribution platform (our services), or as required by law.

Rechonize will take reasonable steps to ensure that the information which it holds is accurate, complete and up-to-date.

Rechonize will give an individual access to all personal information it stores about the individual in a timely manner, unless an exception applies under the Privacy Act.

Kinds of information collected

Rechonize collects personal information about users, contributing artists, business contacts and job applicants and sometimes visitors to our website for the purposes of providing our services which includes marketing activities.

Personal information is defined in section 6 of the Privacy Act as “information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable whether the information or opinion is true or not and whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.”

Rechonize collects and holds details of individuals, including users of our service, contributors to works identified in our service, or contacts for contributors where the contributor is a corporate entity:

  1. Full name;
  2. Address;
  3. Contact number;
  4. Email address;
  5. Date of birth;
  6. Location;
  7. Images, such as video recordings or photographs; and
  8. Sound files of your voice (where a work contains your voice).

If you wish to provide them, we will also collect, hold and disclose (to the public via the service) your:

  1. Social media handles;
  2. Job title/profession.

We also collect and hold details of other individuals, such as business contacts, job applicants etc, provided to us during the ordinary course of our business, such as:

  1. Full name;
  2. Address;
  3. Email address.

Collection and storage of personal information

Rechonize will collect personal information of users, business contacts and job applicants and sometimes visitors to our website by one of the following means:

  1. By requesting information via Rechonize’s website and web application in order to create a profile, upload work and identify yourself in that work;
  2. By an individual providing personal information by way of a resume or otherwise contacting us;
  3. By an individual updating their records with Rechonize.

Rechonize will store the personal information of individuals in the following manner:

  1. All relevant personal information will be entered into and held on Rechonize’s electronic database maintained on Rechonize’s secure server. The database is only accessible by authorised Rechonize staff. The server is maintained in Brisbane.
  2. Personal information contained in written forms and hard copy documents will be kept in safe and secure storage.

Purpose of collection, holding, use and disclosure of personal information

Rechonize will only collect personal information when it is reasonably necessary for one of Rechonize’s functions or activities related to the provision of our services such as:

  1. To allow you to create a profile in our service;
  2. To allow you to identify yourself as a contributor to a work and display your profile;
  3. Seeking your feedback regarding our services; and
  4. Marketing activities.

Rechonize is a worldwide platform that operates globally and is available via the Apple App store for iOS users and Google Play store for Android users. This means that we need to make users’ personal information accessible to users throughout the world, so that they can see you as a contributor to a work. This personal information is limited to the information available on your public profile and any personal information contained in work in which you have been identified as a contributor. This information will be available to users in every country throughout the world.

Rechonize will not use or disclose personal information for any other purpose unless:

  1. consent has been given by the individual; or
  2. the individual would reasonably expect Rechonize to disclose the information for another purpose which is directly related/related to Rechonize’s primary purpose of providing our services; or
  3. Rechonize is required or authorised by law and/or under the Privacy Act.

Your right to access and correct personal information held by us

You have a right to request access to your personal information (including credit information) that Rechonize holds about you. There is no fee involved in making such a request.

If you would like to access your personal information that Rechonize holds, please contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@recognize.com and we will assist you with your request.

If any of the personal information that Rechonize holds is incorrect, incomplete or out of date, please let us know by contacting our Privacy Officer at the above email address and it will be corrected accordingly.

Complaint policy

If you have a complaint about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles by Rechonize in relation to your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@recognize.com.

The first step is to lodge your complaint in writing to Rechonize. Rechonize takes any complaint regarding the privacy of personal information seriously and will work with you to try to resolve the complaint. Rechonize will consider and respond to a written complaint within a reasonable time (usually 30 days).
